PM Julia Gillard told the Pakistani PM :- ” I explained to him that Australians are distressed to see these acts of cruelty and I want the matter investigated.”
Oh really Julia ? How long have the 70,000 sheep been stranded in Pakistan ? Remember how cruelly half the herd was treated when the Pakistanis massacred these poor creatures in the most horrific way ?
Why didn’t your government send Australian vets to Pakistan to ensure that these animals were properly treated ?
Are votes for your party more important than the suffering of animals ?
Australians are more than distressed. Until such time as the Government ends the dreadful live export trade, Australia has no claim to greatness or moral progress Ms Gillard.
This dreadful trade is akin to slavery. Money rules and animals die. The Federal government should hang its head in shame.
